Hydronics Unlocked is coming to East Kilbride and Aberdeen
September 1, 2025
Following the success of the Hydronics Unlocked pilot courses in Edinburgh, we are continuing our collaboration with Warmur Academy and are excited to announce that we are bringing our Hydronics Unlocked training to East Kilbride and Aberdeen for the first time.
There are only 15 spaces for each of these in-person training sessions, giving attendees a clear, structured way to design any heating system from scratch, and help shape the future of smarter heating training across the UK.
The East Kilbride session will be hosted by SNIPEF member WM Donnelly at the Caledonia Training Centre on Friday, 19 September from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
The Aberdeen session will be hosted by SNIPEF affiliate Aberdeen Training Centre at its facility on Saturday, 25 October from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
SNIPEF's own Scott Sanford will deliver the course, bringing his technical expertise to the fore to enhance the understanding of hydronics among Scottish installers.
Transform how you design and install heating systems
The one-day hydronic masterclass and programme gives you the tools to design better systems, grow your reputation and income through smarter, more efficient work. By mastering hydronics, you can confidently design and install high-performing heating systems and heat pumps; solve problems faster; earn more; enjoy happy customers, and future-proof your skills.
Hydronics is an essential skill because water is the heart of almost every wet heating system. It is the science of how water moves through a heating system to deliver heat efficiently and reliably. Without a solid understanding of hydronics, how water moves, carries heat, and behaves inside a system, you’re working blind when it comes to system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Who this course is for?
All types of installers of varying experience levels are encouraged to take part, so whether you're:
- An experienced engineer looking to stay ahead of the curve
- Newly qualified and craving clear, practical answers
- Installing gas or oil boilers and exploring the move into heat pumps
- Already fitting heat pumps but missing key insights
- Or designing systems on paper and want to bridge the gap to real-world installs…
What you’ll learn?
- Build the confidence and skills to deliver systems that are more efficient, reliable and ready for the future. You'll learn:
- Our 10-Step Hydronics Process: your complete framework for design and installation
- Pump Setting: understand how to match pump performance to system needs
- Flow, Velocity, Resistance: calculations made simple and useful
- Pipe Sizing: learn how to size pipes correctly to minimise pressure loss
- Controls for Efficiency: understand how modern controls improve performance
- Low temperature design: build confidence and skills for heat pump work
What's included?
- In-person training led by SNIPEF’s Scott Sanford
- Take-home course book
- Tea, coffee, and biscuits provided throughout
- Free lunch
